Privacy policy

Last updated: June 2025

Maalouma DataGouv Ltd applies to its own data protection the same standard it brings to the governance work it carries out for clients. This page sets out, plainly, what the site collects and what it does not do with it.

1. Data controller

Maalouma DataGouv Ltd, Mont Choisy, Mauritius.
Contact: contact@maaloumadatagouv.com

2. What we collect

One thing only: what you write in the contact form.

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • The message you write
  • The date of submission and the originating IP address, stored with the message so that abusive submissions can be dealt with

The site has no user accounts, no shopping basket and no behavioural tracking. No data is gathered without your knowledge while you browse.

3. Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, and for nothing else. The lawful basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to a professional enquiry.

Your details are never added to a mailing list without your separate and explicit sign-up.

4. How long we keep it

  • Enquiry that goes no further: three years from the last exchange, then deletion.
  • Enquiry that becomes an assignment: for the duration of the contractual relationship, then for the statutory retention period applicable to commercial records.

5. Who has access

Messages arrive in the Maalouma DataGouv Ltd business mailbox and are read only by the people responsible for replying.

We do not sell, rent or exchange any personal data. The only third parties technically in contact with it are:

  • Hostinger International Ltd, host of the website and the mail service, acting as a processor.

6. Cookies and trackers

This site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracking social-media buttons.

Typefaces are served from our own server: no request is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party service when you view this site. Your IP address is therefore passed to nobody merely because you visited.

That is why you see no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.

7. Transfers outside Mauritius

Our host's servers may be located in the European Union or in another country. Hostinger undertakes contractually to provide a level of protection consistent with the GDPR.

8. Your rights

Under the Mauritian Data Protection Act 2017 and, where it applies, the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:

  • Access — to know what data we hold about you and obtain a copy.
  • Rectification — to have inaccurate information corrected.
  • Erasure — to ask for your data to be deleted.
  • Restriction — to ask for processing to be frozen while a point is checked.
  • Objection — to object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
  • Portability — to receive your data in a machine-readable format.

Write to contact@maaloumadatagouv.com. We reply within thirty days.

9. Complaints

If our reply does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the Data Protection Office of the Republic of Mauritius (dataprotection.govmu.org) or, if you live in the European Union, to the supervisory authority in your country.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS; traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Access to the mailbox is protected by a strong password and two-factor authentication.

11. Changes to this policy

Any change will be published on this page, and the date at the top of the document updated.
